The UP Alumni Association will hold the 43rd Regional Alumni Institute (RAI) at the UP Visayas (UPV) in Iloilo City on May 18, 2019 (Saturday).
The RAI will serve as the third part of “Hanot kag Makig-Angot”, a two-day, multi-activity event, which has the following lined up:
1. “Hanot” (swinging): golf tournament, Iloilo Golf and Country Club, Sta. Barbara, Iloilo; May 17 (Friday, 7:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.)
2. Tour of Iloilo City and UPV Miagao (for non-golfers); May 17 (Friday, time to be arranged)
3. “Angot” (linking): Regional Alumni Institute (RAI), UPV Auditorium, topic – “Environment”; May 18 (Saturday, 8:00-11:00 a.m.)
4. Cultural tour: ILOMOCA/ Museum of Phil. Economic History, et al.; May 18 (Saturday, 1:00-5:00 p.m.)
Launched in 1935, the UP Alumni Institute is a regional gathering of UPAA chapters and UP officials that is a means for the University of the Philippines to interact with its alumni, as well as to continue the education and professional development of its graduates. The institute is designed to tackle key issues affecting the university and the country.
The RAI in Iloilo City is expected have a far reaching influence on the development and vivacity not only of the UPAA chapters in the city, but hopefully of the people in the region as well.
