The UPAA is now preparing for the forthcoming 2016 UP General Alumni Homecoming. The event will be held, on June 25, 2016, Saturday, at 3:00 p.m. — with the theme “Walang Humpay Ang Tagumpay” (“Never-Ending Success and Achievements”) – at Ang Bahay ng Alumni, R. Magsaysay Ave., UP Diliman, Quezon City.
The annual event will feature the celebrating Jubilarians – members of the 60th, 50th, 40th, and 25th Jubilee classes, namely, Class of 1956 (Diamond), Class of 1966 (Golden), Class of ’76 (Ruby), and Class of ’91 (Silver). They will stage presentations evoking memories of their college days in UP.
On the same occasion, the 2016 UPAA Distinguished Alumni Awardees will be recognized for having done the Alma Mater proud with their signal achievements and outstanding services to their communities, the country, and humanity as a whole.
Other important functions during the Homecoming period are the annual Alumni Council Meeting and the UPAA Chapters Meeting, which will convene on June 24, 2016, Friday, at 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., respectively.
All UP alumni are invited to actively participate in the Homecoming, as well as in the 2016 UPAA Yearbook, which will commemorate the event. Homecoming tickets, which include dinner and a copy of the yearbook, can be purchased from the UPAA Secretariat at Ang Bahay ng Alumni.
Jubilarians who wish to be in the 2016 Yearbook must submit passport-size photos (preferably in formal or semi-formal attire). If sent by email, photos should be in high resolution (at least 300 dpi).
All UP alumni and friends of UP are invited to place greetings, group photos, family portraits, and other advertisements in the yearbook. (The advertising rates are below.) All materials should reach the UPAA office not later than March 31, 2016, Thursday.
The 2016 UPAA Sub-Committee on Jubilarians has scheduled meetings every second Thursday of the month at the UPAA Board Room of Ang Bahay ng Alumni on the following dates: February 11, March 10, April 14, and May 12, 2016.
