Five of the Top 10 passers in the recent Bar exams are from the University of the Philippines’ College of Law. Nelson Pangan received the highest mark with an average of 85.80%. He became the 47th UP law graduate to top the Bar exams.
Another UP Law graduate, Mark Xavier Oyales, placed second with 85.45%. He tied with Dianna Louise Wilwayco from the Ateneo Law School.
The three other UP Law graduates who placed in the Top 10 are: Eden Catherine Mopia (fourth place, 84.05%); Michael Tiu, Jr. (eighth place, 83.70%); and Cyril Arnesto (tenth place, 83.60%).
The new lawyers totalled 1,174, representing 22.18% of the 5,292 examinees who took the four-Sunday exams in October 2013.
