The UPAA is hosting a “Kapihan ng Bayan sa U.P.” at 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the anteroom of Ang Bahay ng Alumni in UP Diliman, Quezon City. Up for discussion is “Federalism” – the proposed change of the Philippine governmental system from unitary to federal.
Two high-profile resource speakers have been invited: Kalayaan College president and former UP president Jose V. Abueva and retired Supreme Court Justice Vicente V. Mendoza. They will share their thoughts on the pros and cons of this issue which will have profound and far-reaching effects on the lives of all Filipinos. A lively discussion is expected in the open forum.
Open to all UP alumni, faculty and students, as well as the general public, Kapihan ng Bayan sa U.P. is a public service project of the UPAA which aims to serve as a regular forum for intelligent and constructive discussion of issues relevant to our development as a nation.
