The University of the Philippines Alumni Association (U.P.A.A.) has identified the following benefits for an accredited chapter of the University of the Philippines (U.P.):

  • Members of a chapter are accorded the same privileges as members of the UPAA mother unit in Diliman.
  • The Chapter will receive copies of Carillon (courtesy of UP/OAR).
  • Chapter activities submitted to UPAA will be published in the UPAA Yearbook.
  • Chapter officers are entitled to participate in UPAA Council Meetings and take part in setting policy for the Association.
  • Chapter Presidents become ex-officio members of the UPAA Board of Directors and are entitled to attend Board meetings.

The U.P.A.A. has expanded the benefits for an accredited U.P. chapter, to lure more chapters to apply for accreditation.

U.P. has a total of 297 chapters in the Philippines and abroad, 161 of which have U.P.A.A. accreditation, while 136 others have no U.P.A.A. accreditation (as of August 2009).
